Calling Ireland from the US: Dial 011-353-localnumber. If the local number is a Cork number such as 021-000-0000 then drop the 0 so you are now dialing 011-353-21-000-0000. Calling Ireland from the US is simple but it can be confusing, particularly if you are unfamiliar with the codes to put in front of the local Irish number. There are 3 groups of numbers you need to diall. First you need to dial 011 to get outside the US. Think of dialing 011 as being similar to dialing 9 to get an outside line at a hotel or place of work. You dial 9 to get an outside line and you dial 011 to get a line outside the country. Then dial the country code for Ireland which is 353. Finally dial the local number. There is a further complication which catches some people. Who would have thought that your Calls Ireland would be this complicated ? If the local number is a Dublin number (for example 01-111-1111) then you must dial just 1-111-1111. You need to DROP the 0. If you were in Ireland then you would dial 01-111-1111. Its confusing but there you go.
